Educational Development Corporation is the sole US distributor of Usborne Books, educational children's books produced in the UK by Usborne Publishing Ltd.  In 2009, EDC acquired Kane Miller Book Publishers, retaining this brand as an addition to the Usborne product line.  EDC is a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock market (EDUC) and has been recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the 100 fastest-growing small public companies in America for three consecutive years.

EDC began its home-based business division in 1989.  This division operates as Usborne Books & More (UBAM) and markets award-winning children's book from Usborne Publishing and Kane-Miller Publishing through a combination of direct sales, educational workshops, fund raisers, and book fairs sold through a network system of independent sales consultants.
